my hobby goals for 2022/23

– finish my current collection of sisters of battle (well up to 5k points worth)
this mainly means updating models from pre 2020 to have either original backpacks or original sculpt backpacks, giving them offical heads and maybe giving afew of then new weapons (i really like the old bolters
– finish the knights I have that have been wip since 2020/21 including doing free handing on the heraldry (which is why I keep putting it off because it terrifies me)
– finish my current wip cosplays (pictures are below the checklists)

• sister of battle 2019 attempt
  things that still need to be done: leg armour, new backpack, belt with chaplet, pouches and beads, helmet, holsters, new pouldrons

• erza scarlet heart kruz outfit (fairytail)
  I have to redo this costume’s current progress as the torso doesn’t fit but it anymore but it was always way too tight and need to adjust the patterns off it essentially use the current as a tollie (pronounced twirl as i know it)

• rory mercury (gate jsdf) cosplay:
  need to remake: the robe, wrist covers (first attempt didn’t fit when cut out and sewn together), remake the helberd, make a new headpiece

• tech priest redo: so this has been on the backburner since 2016 after the first attempt happened and fell apart at the con it was for. the main version this is going to be a relatively simple one that is built as a launching point for adding new stuff over time (like happens with techpriests in the lore that start as relatively human looking and over the years they change things and add more.
  – semi standard robe with cowl
  – basic east to wear torso armour with new style of backpack mounting block (using pvc pipes as a mounting method instead of tooth edges off foam mats
  – backpack with mounting points that allow for it to be modular but with one inital top that has a servo arm and light on it
  my main reference with the design will be the mechanicus video game

• cassandra alexandra (soulcalibur 2 cosplay
  i got as far as buying the fabric and having much of the patterning done but left off it after i couldn’t get the shield to work

• skyrim imperial heavy legionary
  I started the shield a few years back and got it close to the 70% done mark last year but i need to make the rest of the costume. I did start the patterning years ago (same year i made the eviscerator but I left off to work on that prop due to time crunch and never resumed it.

– make 10 NEW cosplays
current short list for projects is:

• Yunjin – genshin impact
  I have settled on a base pattern that i will be building off of and heavily modifying. i think i have some of the fabric i need but i am not sure i have enough so i may have to buy more
• Kurumi – date a live
  i will me doing a partially armoured build making the corset from foam instead of fabric because it is easier to do and means i would actually have the costume in a timely fashion and have it looking decent, though colour matching paint and fabric will be hard. i also have a pair of platforms to use for the cosplay that i will just need to add some minor details to and maybe attach in some boning to to get it to stay up
• ARTHENYA VI – raging heroes models
  this costume has been on the want to do list for years namely because of the backpack
• sister hospitaller – warhammer 40,000
  namely this costume will start out as modification parts for my normal sister of battle cosplay but will gradually get it’s own parts over time
• commissar yarrick – warhammer 40,000
  now back in the day i did start making his claw but it is huge and cumbersome due to being made from heavy pool mats foam so i am just going to remake it to be lighter and thus more comfortable for conventions. the costume will also be designed to be able to be worn without the power claw (which will be useable on it’s own for videos incase i have an ork player over in future for a battle report)
• Anders – dragon age 2
  so Anders is a divisive character within the dragon age fandom but well i want to set up the character’s cosplay before da 4 happens
• Briar – soulstice
  i love the design of the character and let’s face it i am a sucker for huge sword wielding characters (there is a reason i haven’t started monster hunter and it is because i will have too many cosplays from it
• cathedral knight – original character that i intend to use on my channel art in future

– do 12 40k conversion build projects (i count a single squad as one project) and do videos on them
projects include:

• modular valkyrie/ vendetta addons conversion build
• outrider scout sentinel
• malcador defender conversion build
• valdor conversion build
• building an exorcist with metal parts to match modern style
• jean de arc inspired cannoness
• palatine conversion build
• sister of battle initiates (both doing them with first party parts and green stuff and a third party version
• castigator conversion build
• immolator conversions
• updating an old metal imagifer model
• storm eagle conversion (if i can find a second hand storm raven for a price within my budget)
• building cannonesses from spare parts
• build junith eritia alternative model

– clear my 3rd party 40k backlog (currently sitting at near 70 models) including doing several reviews and converting some of them (some for my sisters, some for my admech, some for my guard
– start on conversion building an admech army including finishing my skitarii horsemen that have been on hold since 2020 due to my needing to sculpt coats and fabric for them}
– start star wars legion (learn how to play it)
– grow my channel to 500 subscribers (who knows if that is possible given this platform but my channel is a hobby not a job
– make 12 terrain tutorial videos on projects I have done
– finish my melee only mechanicus playthrough livestream series
– play 5 games of warhammer
– make 20 terrain pieces and one full set of terrain tiles (24 1 foot industrial terrain tiles made solely from things i can find at the supermarket) and do videos on at least 12 of them. these projects include

• gothic shield generator build
• imperial strongpoint terrain
• miniature military checkpoint recycled terrain
• space port recycled terrain project
• gothic defense line (flat and stained glass styles)
• modular convent
• city ruins terrain from trash

– admech diaries conversion building series following my starting and building an adeptus mechanicus army including the skitarii horsemen build once I finish that. this army isn’t intended to see play at gw stores (and in the end my not even use their rules) so i am going to do my own thing with it using 3rd party and first party bits but the goal is to do it on a budget
the first few videos that I can think of that will be part of this on projects from it will be

• ep: 0 starting point: where my admech collection is at it’s beginning
• skitarii ranger vanguard review (i got them in march and still haven’t finished them, most of them are still sitting mostly primed on painting jars
• ep: 1 expanding infantry on a budget
• ep: 2 building character: adding new characters to the collection using a mix of kitbashing and old metal characters that are out of production/skulls program characters
• ep: 3 air superiority: turning a miniature scenery tornado into a tech punk gunship with a skitarii hard wired into the front, *authors note* I really should build the flyer up in the hot weather of the Australian summer
• ep: 4 mechanized warfare: building armoured units for the army (I have one E-75 Heavy Panzer Walker kit to turn into one walker and I am tempted to go with more of them depending on how this model looks when I have done the conversion on it want to do, i also am tempted to throw budget out the window and buy some really cool looking third party crawler tanks
• ep: 5 cavalry charge: skitarii horsemen build video
• ep: 6 titanic tirade: conversion building lords of war support
• ep: 7 assault boats: troop carriers that hover

though who knows when i would get to doing all these videos with how my life is set to be

– make atleast sister of battle cosplay props including:

• two bolt pistols
• hand flamer
• rebuild my foam flamer prop
• make a meltagun prop
• make a interchangeable combi weapon
• rebuild my plasma pistol
• make a reasonably scaled chainsword
• heavy bolter (including attachment for the backpack)

– start star wars legion:
learn how to play it, start on a republic army and have some rebels and empire for picture values, make star wars legion terrain

– make 12 terrain tutorial videos on projects I have done
– finish my melee only mechanicus playthrough livestream series
– play 5 games of warhammer
– attend conventions if it is safe
– make a pride themed miniature painting video in included history piece on the australian fight for lgbt rights
